No. Open Alpha publishes financial data signals as a bona fide publication under the Publisher's Exclusion (Section 202(a)(11)(D) of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940). We are not registered investment advisers. All signals are algorithmically generated and delivered identically to all subscribers. See our Terms of Service for full details.
How accurate are the signals?
We publish all win rates transparently, including losses. Sell cluster signals have a 72% historical win rate. Convergence signals run at 51.7%. Congressional trade signals are at 51.2%. These are measured across 8,300+ tracked signals with verified 7-day and 30-day outcomes.
What data sources do you monitor?
10+ independent sources: SEC EDGAR (Form 4 insider trades, 8-K events, 13D activist filings, 13F hedge fund holdings), congressional financial disclosures, CFTC Commitment of Traders, FDA drug approvals and recalls, FINRA dark pool data, federal contract awards, Ethereum whale transfers, and stablecoin flows.

Do you trade on your own signals?
Open Alpha's founder does not trade individual stocks based on platform signals. Any personal investing is limited to broad ETFs and index funds to avoid conflicts of interest. Full disclosure is in our Terms of Service.
What's convergence detection?
When multiple independent data sources flag the same ticker within a short window, that's convergence. For example: an insider buys $500K of stock, then a congressional member files a purchase, then unusual options activity appears — all within 72 hours. Our engine detects these overlaps automatically and scores them by signal strength and freshness.
